Week 8

In this blog post I will discuss how things have been going with my group's RIP Project, and my feelings on our progress. I will discuss my impression of our video and how it's going, how I think we could have improved if I could do it over, what I think about my team members, and my personal mark on the project.
So far this process is going great, we have planned out the entire plot, every scene, and who is playing which character. Everything is really defined and everyone in the group knows exactly what they are doing and seems to be happy with their jobs. So far I am very confident about our RIP project. My group is great, I am so happy that I'm paired up with them because we work together really well. I am surprised because usually I hate group projects but everything has been really easy going with my group, and we always seem to do a good job together. Our video is going to be very creepy. I like what we've come up with so far, my only concern is that I don't know if we are going to be able to execute our plan and make our video gory enough.
If I could start the entire process over again, I would try to have everything done earlier, I didn't realize how close the due date really is, and I don't think my group did either. I feel that we don't have the amount of time that we need and our project feels a bit rushed. I feel like if we had originally made a calendar with our schedules and times available that we have to film would have been helpful, but now we have a full week to work on our project and Thanksgiving is getting in the way. Other than the fact that the due date is so close, and we should have started the process earlier, I would do everything the same as we have done it so far.
I love my team members, they have pulled their weight so far and we all have the same goal: to make the best, most meaningful video that we possibly can. Viviana especially has been doing a lot of work, she has made a mask for our monster and has many ideas for the project, she has done a lot of the ground work for our project and I am so thankful to have her. I've put together some of the costume, and today we are filming. I think something that could be improved with my team is if we were all more solid about our ideas. I feel like we've been throwing around many good ideas but things keep changing, most times the changes have been for the better so it's been fine, but if we had everything solidified it might be easier for us to do the project. Also I think my interactions with my group could be better if I finished the script tonight because, so far I feel I don't have enough of the script done. I do plan to finish it up and come through for our group.
I made the dress that the monster in our film will wear and a couple other costume details, also I am bringing a camera to record the film; however my personal mark on the project will be the script. I am trying to keep the dialogue as realistic, compact, and informative to the audience.I have been working on it but I am not nearly done. It was helpful to meet up with my team mates on Wednesday to go over which scenes we wanted to keep.We are all on the same page now and we know what each scene is supposed to look like which is a very good thing for me so that I can write the script and my group will be happy with it. I'm very excited to add detail to the great ideas we've been talking about, and making the story come to life. Maria has offered to help me edit the script, and I think her input would be really fantastic because she is going to be the main character in the film, and I think if she helps, her acting in the film will be more natural.
